A self-initiated concept film. The hardest brief in advertising: sell something the viewer cannot see, hear, or touch.
Fragrance has no visual form. Most perfume advertising solves this by showing a beautiful person instead — which sells the person, not the scent.
The challenge was to find another solution.
Scent cannot be shown. It can only be recalled.
The film works on memory rather than description — surfaces, temperature, half-remembered rooms. Nothing literal, no bottle hero shot until the final frame.

Art direction and sound design were treated as one decision, not two. The audio carries the pacing; the image follows it.
All scenes were designed and edited to convey the composition. Delicate notes of rose, a slight rebellion against Chinese traditions, and a subtle, fleeting spice.
No client, no brief, no budget. Included because it defines the standard I hold commercial work to, and because the restraint it required shows up in everything made since.
